The Board of Education's Occupational Health & Safety Policy for Surrey School District communicates the Board's commitment to a healthy and safe workplace, and if employees do get injured to accommodating their injuries in order to keep them at work as follows:

Policy #5206 - "The Surrey School District strives to achieve standards of occupational health and safety that will provide a safe and healthy workplace in order to minimize the risk of injury and disease to its employees, students and contractors. 

The Board supports Stay at Work and Early Return to Work programs in order to keep employees connected to the work place and to support them in their rehabilitation efforts to return to their pre-injury occupation in the shortest possible time. "
