Critter Cleanse How To Guide
Cleansing and detoxing can be a bit intimidating. We’ve provided this guide to help answer all of the most commonly asked questions around cleansing. We're going to cover:
- Doing Enemas With Your Cleanse
- Eating Healthy
- How Often and What Time of Day To Use Your Products
- Detox Symptoms and Support
- Post-Cleanse Maintenance
Why Enemas?
There are many reasons that it can be helpful to do an enema before cleansing. First off, enemas can help relieve any constipation and clear your elimination pathways so that toxins released during cleansing do not sit too long in the colon and are not reintroduced back into the blood-stream. As the toxins are released more quickly, this reduces the likelihood of experiencing die-off symptoms that may occur as bacteria, fungus, and parasites are broken down. Enemas may also assist in flushing out parasites in the colon. Coffee enemas specifically may help in detoxifying the liver so that this organ is not over-burdened and can properly break down the toxins released during your cleanse.
Try Colon Cleansing with Bentonite Clay and Psyllium Husk
Our bentonite clay and organic psyllium husk help bind to unwanted materials and aid in proper elimination to help prepare your body for a Critter Cleanse. You can do this in replace of an enema, or pair it with your enemas for a powerful colon detoxification. Again, colon cleansing is not required to do before starting your Critter Cleanse but it can be extremely helpful.
2. Consider Your Food
Many people are curious about what foods are most helpful to eat during the cleanse. While it is not necessary to change your food choices for the cleanse to work, eating a healthy diet and giving your body a break from processed foods, animal products, pesticides, added sugars and more is an important part of creating long-term wellness.
Raw Detoxification Diet
If you'd like to really give your body a reset, we recommend eating a raw food, high fruit diet during your cleanse. Eating a diet high in fruit will support your lymphatic system through the detoxing and provide you with natural energy. Fruits are antioxidants and astringents. They also contain plenty of fiber, which helps keep your body eliminating regularly, therefore reducing detox symptoms.
Eating a lot of natural sugars can also help curb cravings towards the added sugars and sweets that parasites feed on. Taking a break from the cake and cookies in replace of fruit will help fuel your body to heal instead of feeding parasites, worms, and candida.
The diagram above shows the foods that help your body detox the fastest and foods that will slow down detoxification. Remember, it's not always necessary to go super fast while detoxing, and it can be helpful to transition into a raw, high fruit diet. If you choose to do a detoxification diet, always listen to your body and move at a speed that feels right for you.
Healthy Eating
If you'd like to eat healthier but would prefer not to do a whole detoxification diet, we recommend that you try to limit the following foods:
Non-Organic Foods, Added Sugars, Dairy, Gluten, Processed Foods, Fried Foods, Raw Fish (Like Sushi), Red Meat, and Starches (Like White Rice).
Replacement Recommendations:
Replace breads and cereals with: Ezekiel Brand Sprouted Grain Products, Gluten Free Breads / Cereals
Replace processed sugars with: Monk Fruit Sweetener, Small Amounts of Honey or Maple Syrup.
Replace milk with: Organic Nut or Oat milks
Replace Wheat Pasta with: Chickpea, Lentil, or Cassava Pasta

Cravings
As you starve worms, parasites, and candida, you may experience intense sugar cravings. This is often the bugs signaling to your brain that THEY are dying (not you, haha). If you experience these intense cravings, remind yourself who is really doing the craving here.
Additional foods that can be helpful in the elimination of parasites and worms: Garlic, Thyme, Ginger, Turmeric, Oregano, Papaya Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, and Sunflower Seeds.

4. Detox Support
Die Off Symptoms - What To Expect
A die off symptom is a detox symptom that occurs as the body begins to break down toxins. Detoxing can come with uncomfortable (but normal) side effects. By eating a diet high in fruit and fiber, taking the included activated charcoal supplements, going to a sauna or sweating, and doing enemas, you can support your body through its detox and minimize symptoms.
Here is a list of some potential die-off symptoms:
Headaches
Digestive Upset
Mood Changes (Anxiety, depression, irritability)
Body Aches and Pains
Changes in Appetite
Cravings
Diarrhea
Fatigue
Oral thrush, Yeast Infection, or Rash: As candida dies off from the digestive tract, it can detox through our skin, mouth, and vagina. What is often thought of as a yeast “infection” can actually be a detox symptom.
Emotional Healing
Our memories and emotions are stored in our cells. As we begin to detox the physical body, we may experience an emotional detox as well. On top of this, as toxins break down in our bodies they can affect our mood. While detoxing, go easy on yourself. Consult a therapist or healer as needed and devote time and space to your healing.
Exercise
It is recommended to avoid heavy exercise during your cleanse period, especially if you're on a mostly fruit based diet. As your body works to come into balance, much of your energy may be directed internally to heal your organs. Letting your body rest and take a break can be helpful, although light exercise such as walking outside or some forms of yoga can be extremely beneficial to your physical and mental health during this time. As always, listen to your body and honor your energy needs.
5. Continued Maintenance
After your 60 day cleanse, you will still have 30 days left of the Mimosa Pudica Seed Supplement (60 capsules left). You may choose to continue taking the supplements, or wait a couple of months and use the supplements as maintenance. We recommend doing a deep cleanse every 2-3 years.
